COMPASSION Sunflower for Ukraine

I painted COMPASSION in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine in the spring of 2022.

Early on there was a social media call for posting blue in yellow echoing Ukraine's Flag.

I posted my painting of Sunflowers in a blue tea pot, unaware that the Sunflower is the National Flower of Ukraine. 

Then a call for Sunflower postings in general. I love painting Flowers. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this painting are going to

World Central Kitchen  . Compassion is painted on Ampersand Gesso Board. It is a beautiful image of hope for Peace in Ukraine and the the world over.
