Developing her Style
Over the last decade Sylvina has been developing her skill and individual style.
She is committed to showing up to paint. Recently she has been on hunts for cows to photograph, curious as they are they do
not stand still for long, she’s like the cow paparazzi! She has managed to paint some on location and they are great loose
flowing fun.
Studio work is a comfort to her, she finds she can bring her plein air painting experience indoors, cultivating a spontaneous,
flow in her paintings. With the camera to aid her she can place her subjects and animals into harmonious settings.
Sylvina grew up on the family farm in Colchester and finds herself
connecting to all aspects of farm life, she paints cows, horses, sheep, geese, cats, dogs, flowers, pumpkins, and great
landscapes.
She lives in Connecticut, with her family & pets,on a small farm from which she draws"paints" inspiration.

Sylvina On Location At Tiffany Farms Benefit Paint Out June 2007
|
Here I am painting on location at Tiffany farms in early June, I was in great company with Roxanne Steed and these beautiful Holsteins. We had fabulous weather, it was hard to settle in there were so many great views. I wanted to paint everything and I was excited to be on location again. This is one of my favorite places to paint! I bought a bag of compost before I left. That is some good stuff, our pumpkin patch is thriving! June 30th, 2007.

I painted at the farm last day of October. Great
clouds rolling around behind the barn, autumn
colors in the distant trees and leaves scattered
around Pop's farm equipment. My dog settled in
behind me and I had to be careful not to trip over
her when I stepped back from the canvas.
above is what happened on canvas that day. It took
me 43 years to paint this piece...ha ha. Nov. 24,

It is 102 in the sun today.
I have many new
possibilities to paint here
on Pumpkin Rock Farm.
They will have to
incubate for a while.
Here is our girl goat "Willow" of Pumpkin Rock Farm!
This painting of her quickly found a new home, at the
Glastonbury 2008 "On the Green Show" It has been a
few years since I've exhibited there and it was a good
show for me, its good to be back! Thanks
"Willow" is available in a print.
